Meet The Team


Ann-Marie Miller
Director
Ann-Marie has been a conservator since 2001, she worked as a freelance bookbinder and conservator. She then worked for 7 years at the British Library, working on the Mercator Atlas and the first illustrated Zoroastrian manuscript in the world. She set up Codex Conservation in 2011. She likes working with all types of collections and is based in London.

Holly Smith Director
Holly has been a conservator since 2012 and has worked in a variety of settings including a private book conservation studio in Cornwall and 10 years at The National Archives. She has worked on some amazing iconic items such as Shakespeare's Will and the Great Domesday Book. She set up Holly Smith Conservation in 2018 and joined Impact Heritage in 2025.

Ruth Stevens Director
Ian Watson Director
Following a career in Illustration and Design, Ruth retrained as a conservator in 2005. She worked at the British Library for 7 years on their incredible collections. In 2013, she set up Sussex Conservation Consortium Ltd. with Ian Watson.
Ian has been a conservator since 2011 and worked for 5 years at Lambeth Palace Library. He is not only a conservator but also a preservation specialist and visiting tutor to the conservation students at West Dean College. He set up Sussex Conservation Consortium with Ruth in 2013.
